The Washington Redskins will release running back Tim Hightower. He ran for 321 yards in five games last season with Washington, but has been trying to return from a knee injury. Roy Helu, rookie Alfred Morris and Evan Royster would be the primary backs for the Redskins as things stand now. The team is reportedly talking to the Miami Dolphins about Steve Slaton.
RB Tim Hightower Out In Washington, Fantasy Value Uncertain
Running back Tim Hightower will be cut by the Washington Redskins. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Washington’s running back situation was already murky but Hightower figured to play some role in the offense after starting several games in 2011. Mike Shanahan is notorious among fantasy owners for not having a No. 1 back and this is still the case, even with Hightower out of the way. For now, Hightower drops from a fringe No. 5 RB in most leagues but he is the kind of player that could land in a new situation.
