Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew is still holding out for a new contract, and he may be prepared to take this fight into the regular season. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the running back's holdout is expected to last until the end of the month, and potentially into September. While the two sides are in daily contact and appear to be on good terms, the Jaguars are not budging on Jones-Drew's demands to restructure his contract. Jones-Drew is owed $9 million over the next two years.
Maurice Jones-Drew Prepared To Hold out Until September: Fantasy Implications
Maurice Jones-Drew is in this holdout for the long haul. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: This will be a disaster for both the Jaguars and fantasy owners if the stalemate spills over into September. Jones-Drew won the rushing title in 2011 and was the lone bright spot on an otherwise dismal Jacksonville offense. They absolutely cannot afford to lose their biggest weapon with a struggling young QB and an uncertain WR corps, and fantasy owners can’t afford to blow a Top 5 draft pick on a guy prepared to sit games out. But it probably won’t get that far. Expect the two sides to reach an agreement at the 11th hour, as most of these situations end.
