Coach Ron Rivera said that he expects all of his key players to be active for the Week 1 opener against the Buccaneers.
Jonathan Stewart And Steve Smith Expected To Be Active: Fantasy Implications
Steve Smith and Jonathan Stewart look like they’re good to go. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Jonathan Stewart tweaked his ankle on Sunday against the Jets, but it looks like the Oregon product dodge a bullet. Meanwhile, Steve Smith was on crutches a week ago with an infection in his foot. It looks like fantasy owners should not factor the injury risk to either Smith or Stewart. The Panthers take on the porous run defense last season and ranked dead last in rushing yards allowed, so Stewart does have some low-end RB2 allure in 12-team leagues. As for Steve Smith, he should be able to carve up Eric Wright and Aqib Talib on the outside and it looks like he's a must-start for this matchup.
