After winning the starting running back role in preseason, Doug Martin looks like he will have a strong impact on the Buccaneers offense throughout 2012. Martin carried the ball 24 times for 95 yards, and four receptions for 23 yards total against the Panthers in Week 1.
Doug Martin Impresses Fantasy Owners With First Career Start
Doug Martin looked sharp in his first ever regular season NFL game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Greg Schiano isn’t fooling anybody with his eagerness to run the ball often. Martin is going to be heavily relied on in an offense that revolves around setting the tone on the ground, and fantasy owners will continue to benefit from his talent. Only five carries were given to other running backs among Tampa Bay’s squad, so there’s no doubt Martin is the main man for the Bucs. Carolina’s run defense wasn’t anything to write home about last season, so it will be interesting to see how the rookie fares against tougher opposition. However, you should be starting him every week.
