Ryan Mathews saw a lighter workload in practice with the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Despite being even more limited than usual, head coach Norv Turner said that Mathews has not experienced a setback in his recovery from surgery to repair a broken clavicle.
Ryan Mathews Fantasy Status Unchanged Despite Lighter Workload Wednesday
Ryan Mathews was limited to taking “mental reps” during Chargers practice Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

“It’s just the plan we have,” Turner said. “He worked pretty hard to the side. He just didn’t practice. We’ll get him out there as soon as we can.”
Analysis: Mathews took mental reps, sitting out the stretching and individual drills portions of practice that he had participated in the week before. The running back has to be considered questionable at best for this Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans. Owners would be wise to begin preparing to have contingency plan in place if/when Mathews sits.
