San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (clavicle) was cleared for contact Thursday and practiced for the second straight day Friday, but his status for Sunday's game is still anyone's guess. Sources told the North County Times that the team wasn't planning for Mathews to return this week, and in fact may be planning to hold him out until Week 3 at the earliest. That puts him right at the back edge of his original 4-6 week timetable since getting surgery on the broken collarbone in early August.
Ryan Mathews Practices Friday, Still No Sure Thing For Fantasy Owners This Week
Ryan Mathews may or may not play this week--sound familiar? We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Mathews still thinks he can play against the Titans Sunday, but he said the same thing last week, so wait for official word before making your roster moves. The Chargers' run game was putrid on Monday night, and while they have a more favorable matchup in Tennessee's vulnerable run defense, I'd avoid Ronnie Brown and just look elsewhere for RB points until Mathews is healthy.
