49ers Inactive Report: Brandon Jacobs, Ted Ginn Have Zero Fantasy Value This Week

Sep 9, 2012; Detroit, MI, USA; St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson (39) on the sidelines in the third quarter against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. Mandatory Credit: Andrew Weber-US Presswire PresswireSteven Jackson was missing from the second half of Sunday’s game due to a hamstring injury and not due to the reported benching, according to Jason LaCanfora. The benching report was based around Steven Jackson spiking the ball at the goal line and receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Jackson’s day ended with nine carries for 58 yards.
Analysis: Daryl Richardson looked OK today with 15 carries for 83 yards and two catches for 19 yards. Although, he had a huge fumble in this game that could have led to a loss. The other big story here is that Isaiah Pead’s value as a handcuff was just crippled and he can probably be let loose. Fantasy owners will want to keep an eye on this, but given S-Jax’s injury history, Richardson will be a target on the waiver wire.

PresswireAhmad Bradshaw Out For Game With Neck Injury, Decreasing Fantasy Value

Getty ImagesFantasy Impact: Bradshaw’s fantasy owners knew about his injury history prior to drafting him, but this is still a tough break. He has had trouble staying healthy throughout his career. The extent of this injury is not yet known, but Wilson’s fantasy value will go way up if Bradshaw is forced to miss any more time.

Getty ImagesFantasy Impact: Aaron Hernandez was off to a fast start to the season, so any lengthy injury would be a huge blow to his fantasy owners. His absence will likely limit the amount of two-tight end sets the Patriots deploy. Wes Welker owners are the biggest beneficiaries of Hernandez being out of the lineup, as Welker wasn’t on the field before the injury.

September 10, 2012; Baltimore, MD, USA; Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed (20) scores a touchdown on an interception return during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Evan Habeeb-US PRESSWIRE Fantasy Impact: Reed is one of the NFL’s all-time great ball hawks, and that makes him worth fantasy consideration as an IDP despite his age. He isn’t a very good source of tackles from the free safety spot, however, so you’ll have to hope for greatness every week if he becomes a regular part of your fantasy lineup. His presence certainly gives the Ravens a major boost as a team defense option, however.

PresswireFantasy Impact: Nicks was technically a game-time decision, though he has a history of playing through injuries. Whether he will be effective enough for fantasy owners remains to be seen. He had a disappointing debut, catching four passes for 38 yards against Dallas. The Bucs are a much better matchup, however.

Aug 2, 2012; San Diego, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews (24) runs the ball as linebacker Donald Butler (56) gets blocked during training camp at Charger Park. Mandatory Credit: Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE Fantasy Impact: Not a big surprise here. Fantasy owners should have a suitable backup option to slide into their starting lineups considering Mathews missed Week 1 as well. He could be ready to return for Week 3 so be sure to follow up on his status next week. Brinkley, Brown and McClain are all extremely risky options in standard leagues.
