The Lions are so confident in Kevin Smith that they’re working out Ryan Grant to possibly replace him. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy Impact: Smith withered in the face of the 49er defense Sunday night, getting only 53 yards on 16 carries and later ceding carries to Joique Bell. His role in the offense could be further reduced next week when Mikel Leshoure comes back from suspension. Smith had a good Week 1 against the Rams, but it's hardly a ringing endorsement that the Lions are kicking the tires on has-beens like Grant and Slaton. He will probably be little more than fantasy bench fodder going forward.
