St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson suffered a very minor groin injury Sunday, but rookie Daryl Richardson may be forcing himself onto the fantasy radar. According to the Rams' official Twitter, coach Jeff Fisher said that Jackson could have re-entered Week 2's game against the Washington Redskins had Richardson struggled in his pro debut. Richardson made it a moot point, getting 83 yards on 15 carries and adding 19 yards on two receptions. Jackson was pulled from the game after an unsportsmanlike penalty.

Daryl Richardson had a big game in place of Steven Jackson, and could see more snaps going forward. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: At 29 years old, Jackson’s days as a workhorse back are numbered, and after years of running him into the ground, the Rams may have finally found a viable change-of-pace back to take the load off. Richardson is going to be a hot commodity on the waiver wire this week, and fantasy owners will want to get in on the bidding war.
