Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller are competing in practice for the backup job behind Reggie Bush prior to the Miami Dolphins' Week 3 bout against the New York Jets, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Thomas returned to practice Wednesday after missing last Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders with a concussion. Miller took carries behind Bush instead, and contributed 65 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

Fantasy Impact: Thomas said Wednesday that he expects to resume the Dolphins’ No. 2 spot on the depth chart. The statement was optimistic to say the least, however, as Salguero’s report confirms. It’s difficult to say who has the inside track this weekend, but long-term there is a good chance Miller eventually jumps Thomas in Miami.
