We're back for Week 3 of the 2012 NFL season. The Giants and Panthers got things going on Thursday in a surprising one-sided beatdown by New York. Hakeem Nicks sat out the game, leaving Ramses Barden to do serious damage, catching nine passes for 138 yards. The Panthers defense focused their efforts on Victor Cruz, thus opening the door for a big day from Barden. The rest of the NFL though is back today and tomorrow to try and boost your fantasy squad in Week 3.
Fantasy Football Rankings 2012: WR Projections For Week 3
We provide Week 3 NFL fantasy football projections for wide receivers courtesy of numberFire.com.

We have been providing you with rankings all week long, but as Sunday dawns, it would be helpful to have some projections as well. Our Week 3 wide receiver rankings are based on our pool of knowledge and often a bit of gut instinct. To improve your chances this year, we are going to provide Sunday projections courtesy of the folks at numberFire. numberFire uses series of mathematical models, to break down the action and figure out who exactly is performing well. They use the power of predictive and regressive modeling to more accurately project future performance.
The biggest difference between SB Nation Fantasy rankings versus numberFire's projections remains Julio Jones. SB Nation Fantasy ranks him second in standard and PPR leagues. numberFire projects him at No. 17. The Chargers bring a solid defense, but it is possible we could see the two rankings split the difference. One guy who has dropped quite a bit in both rankings is Wes Welker. Nobody really knows what to do with him at this point
numberFire claims a higher predictive rate than the major companies (ESPN, CBS, Yahoo!). However, as with anything in fantasy football, we at SB Nation Fantasy view numberFire as one more weapon in your arsenal to claim victory. The numbers can help over the long term, but there are enough variables week-to-week that multiple sources can provide great value.
