Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells (severe turf toe) was placed on IR on Wednesday, meaning that Ryan Williams will assume full duties for the time being. Wells was given the "Designated for return" tag though, meaning that he could come back later in the year. Wells hurt his toe in Sunday's win over the Eagles and that injury will apparently keep him out for at least several weeks. The new rule allows the team to designate one player that can return to practice after the sixth week and to game action after the eighth. Williams will be starting against the Dolphins this week.
Beanie Wells goes on IR, Ryan Williams fantasy value skyrockets
Beanie Wells hit IR on Wednesday, with a designated for return tag. We break down the fantasy implications.

Update: Per Adam Schefter, Wells will be eligible to return November 25th against the Dolphins
Fantasy Take: A shared backfield hurt the value of both backs, but this news means that Williams could be elevated to RB2 status as the lone carrier of the ball for the 3-0 Cardinals. Williams is averaging 3.4 yards per carry (and two fumbles) this year but only has 36 touches after three weeks. That number should go up and he could have a big week against the Dolphins.
