Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte (ankle) was a participant in practice on Wednesday and "thinks he can play" on Monday night against the Cowboys. Forte missed the Bears week 3 win over the Rams with the injury and has been expected to miss more than just one game, which is why coach Lovie Smith also stressed that he still has a long ways to go. Michael Bush will likely get the start, unless Forte pulls off the unexpected.
Matt Forte practices, thinks he can play, but fantasy value still highly in doubt
Matt Forte thinks he can play on Monday against the Cowboys, but owners should be wary. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Take: Players will always tell you that they can play but what matters is what the coaches think, and it still sounds like Smith is going to be extra caution with his star running back. Bush was not very effective in his start, gaining only 55 yards on 18 carries, but he did score a touchdown and could be a good RB2 start against a Dallas defense that is so far 19th against the run. If Forte did manage to come back this early, we’d caution you from starting him, since he’d likely play on a limited basis.
