Second-year Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder is thus far breaking out in the 2012 season, but he was limited in practice on Thursday with a neck ailment. Ponder was not on the Wednesday injury report, so this could be a new injury, but as of now we don't have reason to believe he'll miss Sunday's game against the Lions. The Vikings quarterback is completing over 70% of his passes through three games, with 713 yards, 4 TD and 0 INT. Tight end Kyle Rudolph returned to practice Thursday, but was limited.
Christian Ponder limited in practice as fantasy value rises
Vikings QB Christian Ponder was limited in practice on Thursday with a neck issue. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Take: It might be time to start penciling in Ponder as the breakout second-year player in the NFL, while other young QB's begin to struggle. He was excellent against the defense of the 49ers, completing 60% of his passes for 198 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT. The Lions have a very suspect pass defense and it's possible that Ponder would be a sneaky top ten play for his position this week, just as long as he gets healthy in time. Check back tomorrow for Friday's injury report.
