Golden Tate will likely miss the Seattle Seahawks season opener with a knee injury suffered during last Thursday's preseason opener, the Seattle Times reports. A source told the Times on Friday after the injury that the wide receiver would miss two weeks, putting him in line for a Week 2 return. With Tate out, the Seahawks will likely start Braylon Edwards at split end.
Golden Tate Likely Out For Seahawks Opener, Fantasy Football Value Waning
Golden Tate will likely miss the Seahawks’ season opener with a knee injury, according to reports. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Tate has been somewhat of a disappointment with the Seahawks through two seasons. Last year he racked up just 382 total yards and three touchdowns, albeit with Tarvaris Jackson at quarterback. The offense should take at least an incremental step forward with rookie Russell Wilson looking very impressive in preseason. Tate has to be careful that he doesn't lose reps to Edwards, however. Edwards is fully healthy coming off an injury-plagued season with the San Francisco 49ers.
