Shane Vereen will not play for the New England Patriots on Sunday when they head to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans, according to Christopher Price of WEEI. Vereen has missed seven practices in a row with a foot injury sustained in the preseason. A second round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Vereen is expected to make an impact as a receiving back in New England this season. WIth the departure of BenJarvus Green-Ellis, more carries will be available in the Patriots' backfield this season, but Vereen's durability issues are putting Stevan Ridley in line to receive the bulk of the carries.
Shane Vereen Out For Patriots On Sunday, Boosting Stevan Ridley’s Fantasy Value
Shane Vereen will not play for the New England Patriots on Sunday when they head to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Stevan Ridley thoroughly outplayed Shane Vereen this preseason anyways, but throw in Vereen’s injury and Ridley has a chance to runaway with the starting gig on Sunday. Bill Belichick can be unpredictable, though. Vereen may have no fantasy value now, but things can change in an instant in New England.
