Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 6 TNF: Martellus Bennett

Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett scored three touchdowns in the Bears' first two games on the season. Since then, he has been held out of the end zone, even with a season-high 90 yards in the team's Week 4 shootout against the Detroit Lions.

Bennett will look to keep up his strong season production Thursday night when the Bears face Bennett's 2012 team, the New York Giants. Bennett is listed as a game-time decision for the game, but early reports are that he's likely to play.

Fantasy impact: This could very easily be a form of confirmation bias, but it certainly seems like teams go out of their way to try to give players a touchdown when facing their former teams (see BenJarvus Green-Ellis, just last weekend). If that's true, then it stands to reason Jay Cutler will throw the ball to Bennett at the goal line at least a time or two Thursday night, in hopes of letting him score on the Giants.

Even if that isn't true, Bennett is a number-one fantasy tight end. He ranks eighth in the league in tight-end yardage at 281 yards, and that is including a near-shutdown ten-yard performance against the Steelers in Week 3. Bennett, assuming he does play, is probably a must-start in almost all leagues.
