Fantasy football Projections, Week 6: Eagles vs. Buccaneers featuring Doug Martin, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy

The Week 6 contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers features its share of question marks at the quarterback position. We've got all the fantasy projections for you, courtesy of numberFire.

Philadelphia Eagles

It was known within a day or two after the Eagles' Week 5 win over the New York Giants that quarterback Michael Vick (hamstring) wouldn't play this week when the team takes on the Buccaneers. Vick's injury paves the way for backup Nick Foles to get the nod under center in Week 6. Foles will no doubt be the default option for Vick's fantasy owners in deeper leagues, and if last year is any indication, he should be able to fill in nicely. The last time Foles started for the Eagles, which just before Christmas last season, he threw for 345 passing yards against the Washington Redskins.

It goes without saying that the Buccaneers' pass defense is a little better this year than that of the Redskins, meaning that the Eagles will have to rely on wide receiver DeSean Jackson and running back LeSean McCoy to drive the offense. Jackson has performed a much better this year after a brutal 2012 season, averaging over 100 receiving yards per game in the first five weeks. That pace will see him eclipse his total of 700 yards from last year midway through the season.

Jackson will be in tough this week as he will draw the Buccaneers’ Darrelle Revis on the other side of the ball. That should leave McCoy with plenty of work this week. McCoy is looking to bounce back after rushing for just 46 yards against the Giants in Week 5. That shouldn’t be a problem considering he’s averaging just over 102 yards rushing per game this season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After releasing quarterback Josh Freeman and watching him sign with the Minnesota Vikings, the Buccaneers have officially entrusted rookie Mike Glennon with the job of managing the team's passing game. Glennon tried his best in his NFL debut against the Arizona Cardinals back in Week 4, completing 24 of 43 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown to go with a pair of interceptions. Though the performance was less than stellar, it did come against the staunch Cardinals defense that saw the return of linebacker Daryl Washington from suspension.

One encouraging glimmer of hope for fantasy owners is that Glennon did hook up with wide receiver Mike Williams for his one and only touchdown in Week 4. Williams only managed four catches for 38 yards, but he’s going up against an Eagles pass defense that gives up the most fantasy points in the league to wide receivers this season.

Tampa is hoping running back Doug Martin can have a big game for the Buccaneers. Martin was a consensus top five draft pick in fantasy leagues this year, yet he currently has just 377 yards from scrimmage and one score through four games. If the Buccaneers are to beat the Eagles, there's Martin will need to be a big part of the victory.
