Though Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had his best yards-per-carry average of the season Sunday, at 6.2, he also had his lowest rushing total of the year, at 62. That was at least in part because his Vikings fell behind early to the Carolina Panthers, en route to losing 35-10, and had to resort to the pass quickly in the game.

Peterson had a 31-yard run, meaning he rushed for only 31 yards on his other nine carries. He added 21 receiving yards on three receptions.
Fantasy impact: Peterson has six touchdowns on the season, but the yardage just hasn’t been there. The long runs have always been part of Peterson’s game, but he hasn’t historically have relied as heavily on them for his overall yardage as he has so far this season.
That said, Peterson's last game (two weeks ago against the Steelers) was huge, with 140 rushing yards and two scores, and the team had to move away from him early on Sunday. Peterson is still a no-question RB1, and with a get-right game next Monday against the New York Giants, fantasy owners should be licking their chops.
