Brandon LaFell has big day for Panthers, fantasy owners
The Panthers receiver had a long touchdown and more than 100 yards Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Brandon LaFell had his longest single play since 2011 Sunday, scoring on a 79-yard pass connection with quarterback Cam Newton. All told, LaFell caught four passes (on four targets) for 107 yards and the score as the Panthers beat the Minnesota Vikings 35-10.
The 107 receiving yards were more than double LaFell's previous season high (53 yards against the New York Giants in Week 3), and the touchdown brings his season total to three.
Fantasy impact: LaFell has been very feast-or-famine this season. He had only 13 total combined receiving yards in the season’s first two games, and was held to 47 yards a week ago, but had 53 yards and two scores against the Giants, and then exploded for Sunday’s totals.
Such unpredictability is actually an improvement for LaFell - he’s tended to be far more famine than feast in his career to date. With three touchdowns through five games this season, LaFell is on pace for nearly double-digit scores this season. Considering he entered 2013 with eight total touchdowns in his three-year career, it seems likely he won’t keep this pace up. He’s a WR3 at best going forward, if that.
