Geno Smith throws two interceptions; fantasy owners mourn
The rookie quarterback had inspired some to consider him a starting option entering Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Pittsburgh Steelers had the number of quarterback Geno Smith Sunday, picking off the New York Jets twice en route to a 19-6 win. Smith was held without a passing touchdown for only the second time of his career.
Smith completed 19 of his 34 pass attempts for 201 yards, but had no scores. He added eight rushing yards on three carries. His second interception came inside the two-minute warning, after the game was largely decided, but his first came early in the third quarter, when the Jets were down 10.
The game brings Smith’s season totals to seven touchdowns and ten interceptions.
Fantasy impact: Smith’s three-touchdown, no-interception outing against Atlanta Monday night gave him some credibility among fantasy owners, to the tune of starts in seven percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues, and he rewarded that faith with a dud.
Smith’s season has now included multiple interceptions in four of six games, and passer ratings under 80 on three occasions. He’s still a rookie, and there are likely good days ahead for Smith, but it would be really hard to trust him in fantasy this season.
