Dwayne Bowe remains quiet for Chiefs, fantasy owners
The wide receiver had 46 yards Sunday, but no scores. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy football owners who have been eagerly waiting for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe to return the high draft pick value he had in preseason were kept waiting Sunday, as the receiver had only 46 yards on three receptions, and was kept out of the end zone for the fourth time in six games, as the Chiefs beat the Oakland Raiders 24-7.
Bowe has yet to top 60 yards in a game this season, after a 2012 in which he eclipsed that mark eight times in 13 games. He also hasn’t had more than four catches in a game this season.
Fantasy impact: It’s about time to give up hope that Bowe will return the investment he cost on draft day. Moving forward, fantasy owners should see him as a WR3/flex with upside, not a viable WR2. It seems like either head coach Andy Reid and/or quarterback Alex Smith just aren’t feeling the Dwayne Bowe connection (sorry).
On the other hand, other than running back Jamaal Charles, no pass-catcher on the Chiefs has distinguished himself yet, outside of the big game Donnie Avery had against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. Bowe is still almost certainly the most skilled non-Charles option the Chiefs have, so eventually he'll get his touches. They just won't be as many as everyone thought a few months ago.
