Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris had a productive day rushing the football on Sunday, though it wasn't enough to carry his team past the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Though had the Redskins committed to the run early on they might have ended up successful.
Alfred Morris plays well despite lack of touches, is a must-start for fantasy owners going forward
Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris plays well despite being misused by the team for much o the game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Morris carried the ball 16 times for 81 yards with a touchdown. That’s a per-carry average of 5.1 yards, and when you see a stat like that, you wonder why a player doesn’t get the ball more. Morris had a 45-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, right about the time the Dallas defense started to tire.
Despite that, the Redskins didn’t really go back to him, and that ultimately hurt them. The Dallas defense keyed in on the read option and allowed them to seal the win.
Fantasy Impact: It’s significant that Morris performed well, given that he was dealing with a rib injury prior to this game. Fortunately, the Redskins had a bye week prior to this one, giving Morris plenty of time to rest up and get back in shape. He has three touchdowns over the course of the first five games, and provided the Redskins actually use him properly, Morris is a top fantasy back going forward.
