Michael Vick says injury worse than he thought; fantasy value nearly gone
The quarterback missed Week 6 with a hamstring injury, and looks likely to miss more time going forward. We break down the fantasy implications.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick said his hamstring injury is worse than he expected, according to a report by CSNPhilly.com columnist Reuben Frank. The injury, which has forced Vick to miss the Eagles' last game and a half, will likely hold him out at least through this Sunday's Cowboys game and maybe more games going forward.
Vick has thrown for 1,185 yards on the season. He has five passing touchdowns and only two interceptions, plus two rushing touchdowns, but hasn't accounted for a score of any kind since Week 3 against Kansas City. His backup, Nick Foles, took over for Vick in Week 5 and got the Week 6 start. He has 542 passing yards and six passing touchdowns with no interceptions so far, plus one rushing touchdown.
Fantasy impact: It seems at least possible that Vick’s injury status sounding worse all of a sudden is at least partially linked to Foles’ very impressive production in Vick’s absence, as a way to avoid a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia. Regardless, the team knows Vick is not its future; Foles could be, but the team needs to figure it out one way or another.
On the year, Foles has a 127.9 passer rating. As long as he keeps looking that good, it really doesn’t much matter whether Vick’s hamstring is perfectly healthy or snapped in two; Foles is going to be the guy as long as the team can justify it. Vick’s fantasy value has dropped to almost nil.
