Fantasy football owners can rejoice this week, as it appears New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski could make his return to the field this weekend. Pro Football Talk is reporting that Gronkowski's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, stated all his doctors have cleared the tight end for play this weekend against the New York Jets.
Rob Gronkowski returns to fantasy relevance as doctors clear Patriots TE
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has officially been cleared by his doctors to play. We break down the fantasy implications

Gronkowski has been recovering from back and forearm injuries, and started getting in more consistent practice sessions the last few weeks. There was word of some grumbling this past week when Gronk was inactive for Week 6. There has been belief he could have played, but the doctors had not given him the all clear. That has now changed.
Fantasy impact: Clearance does not guarantee Gronkowski will be active on Sunday, but the odds would seem to be pretty good that he will play. You will still want to hang on to your spare tight end until Sunday, but if Gronk is active, he could be a solid play. The Jets rank No. 25 in the NFL against the tight end. You could very well wait and see how he performs this first week, but unless you've got a notable tight end alongside Gronk, his upside makes him a worthwhile play. And given how much the Patriots passing game has struggled without him, we have to think Tom Brady will look to Gronk early and often.
