New York Giants running back David Wilson looks to be in line for the majority of the carries in the team's Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Ralph Vacchiniano of the New York Daily News reports that rookie Michael Cox won't see increased action, and ESPN's Dan Graziano says that Brandon Jacobs will still only be used in short-yardage and goal-line scenarios.
Da’rel Scott, Michael Cox not a threat to David Wilson’s fantasy owners
The Giants’ running back situation still falls on one man’s shoulders. We discuss the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Since the start of his rookie season last year, Wilson has earned the label of a boom or bust type fantasy running back. He experienced problems holding onto the ball in his first career NFL game and then exhibited a case of déjà vu all over again in the first game of his sophomore season. His struggles fumbling the ball have seen Wilson sitting in head coach Tom Coughlin’s doghouse all too often.
That said, the team made the decision to place running back Da’rel Scott on waivers recently, ending his tenure with the team. Coupling Scott’s departure with the fact that teammate Brandon Jacobs has only managed 11 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown in three games this season, it seems that Wilson still has a legitimate shot at justifying his status as a popular fantasy pick this season.
In Week 5, the Giants face an Eagles run defense that gives up the eighth-most fantasy points to running backs. Fantasy owners who didn’t trade Wilson when he was doing horribly should definitely see this as an opportunity to give Wilson a start.
