Fantasy football projections, Week 7: Chargers vs. Jaguars featuring Philip Rivers, Keenan Allen and Justin Blackmon

The Week 7 match up between the San Diego Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars features two teams with wide receivers that are scorching hot. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

San Diego Chargers

Rookie wide receiver Keenan Allen has been one of the hottest players on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues in the last two weeks, and for good reason. In the last three weeks, Allen has 20 catches for 302 receiving yards and his first two career touchdowns. Quarterback Philip Rivers peppered his young wide out with 12 targets in a Week 6 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He'll no doubt get a ton of looks in Week 7 against a winless Jaguars team that gives up a fair amount of points.

The success the Chargers had through the air against the Colts benefited running back Ryan Mathews. He ran for 102 yards in Week 6, marking the first time this season he has eclipsed the 100-yard plateau. Although he’s yet to find the end zone this season, Mathews is a good bet for a touchdown against the Jaguars, who give up the ninth most fantasy points to fantasy running backs going into Week 7.

Jacksonville Jaguars

After quarterback Blaine Gabbert struggled in the Jaguars' loss to the St. Louis Rams back in Week 5, Chad Henne was given the starting nod in a Week 6 loss to the Denver Broncos. Although that hasn't given the Jaguars any wins, it has gotten them closer and definitely given a winning feeling to fantasy owners of wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

Since serving a four-game suspension to start the season, Blackmon has been in the top two in fantasy points the last two weeks. Going into this week’s game against the Chargers, Blackmon has a whopping 19 catches for 326 yards and a touchdown. Its expected that teammate Cecil Shorts (shoulder) will not play in Week 7, which means Blackmon will likely get more than 10 receptions against San Diego, making him a monster fantasy play.

Fantasy owners aren't the only ones benefiting from Blackmon's return. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has rushed for at least 70 yards in each of the last two games after averaging under 40 in the first four games of the season.
