Fantasy football projections, Week 7: Packers vs. Browns features Aaron Rodgers-Jordy Nelson connection primed for big numbers

The Green Bay Packers are trying to avoid falling to .500 in Week 7, but they have a tough matchup in the Cleveland Browns ahead of them. Fortunately for Green Bay, the Browns have lost their last two games and have struggled mightily. Quarterback Brian Hoyer tore his ACL, leaving Brandon Weeden as the starting quarterback. That hasn't quite worked out.

Meanwhile, the Packers are about as stable as you can get at the position with Aaron Rodgers, who is indisputably one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL. That said, both teams have some solid fantasy options and it should be an interesting matchup from that perspective. With some help from numberFire, we'll take a look at how some of these players are projected to perform. We'll start with the home team below:

Aaron Rodgers is, of course, expected to put up huge numbers. He's projected to earn over 21 fantasy points for lucky owners this week. His top receiver, Jordy Nelson, comes in second with 11.11 projected points on numberFire's charts. These two are going to hook up a couple times -- that's a virtual certainty at this point.

Rookie running back Eddie Lacy has been coming on nicely here and there, and numberFire thinks he could have a decent game against the Browns, with just over 10 projected points. They suspect he'l earn over 50 yards, but that he'll struggle to find the end zone. That's no surprise, given that the Browns have been somewhat stingy this season -- when the offense isn't giving away stellar field position.

That means that young playmaker Josh Gordon could be in for a couple big gains, his specialty. He's projected to earn 10.15 fantasy points on the day, and that might be a little conservative at this point. Behind him, tight end Jordan Cameron is projected to earn 8.34 points. Running back Willis McGahee comes in below the kicker at 6.33 points.
