San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead got his first rushing touchdown of the season Sunday, rushing for 29 yards on nine carries as the Chargers beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, 24-6. Woodhead added 47 receiving yards on four receptions.
Danny Woodhead manages first rushing TD for fantasy owners
The Chargers running back continued to be productive Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Woodhead had three receiving touchdowns entering today, but Sunday’s first-quarter 2-yard run was his first rushing score of the season. He now has four touchdowns in his last four games.
Fantasy impact: Woodhead was something of an afterthought on draft day, but has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners. He has gained between 70 and 90 total yards in every game since Week 3, serving as a change-of-pace and pass-catching back in support of starter Ryan Mathews.
Mathews has had consecutive 100-yard rushing games. Whether that is because he’s had Woodhead there to divert attention, or because Mathews is getting healthier irrespective of Woodhead, remains to be seen, but overall, the Chargers’ offense appears to be getting more solid. They appear to have found a fit for Woodhead in their offense, so look for similar production going forward.
