San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates had a rough day Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He caught six balls for only 31 yards as the Chargers won 24-6.
Antonio Gates a non-factor for Chargers, fantasy owners
The tight end was shut down Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gates' worst two games of the season have come in his last two, as he caught only four passes for 28 yards a week ago against the Colts. He has two 100-yard receiving games and two touchdowns on the season.
Fantasy impact: Gates was a pleasant fantasy surprise early in the season, with more than 10 fantasy points in three of the Chargers’ first four games. Since then, he’s produced much worse, being held to fewer than 60 yards receiving over his past two contests.
The team’s bye is this Sunday, and will be followed by consecutive games against sieve-defenses in Washington and Denver. Those two games should tell fantasy owners whether Gates is Early Season Gates (good yardage, decent chance at a touchdown) or Last Two Weeks Gates (sad face).
