Roy Helu springs to life in fantasy leagues with 3 touchdown runs
The Redskins received an unlikely contribution from second-string running back Roy Helu Jr. in the team’s 45-41 win over the Bears. We break down the fantasy implications.

In a 45-41 shootout, Helu, who predominantly plays in hurry-up and passing situations, capitalized for three rushing touchdowns and 46 total yards during the Redskins’ victory. Helu’s first touchdown of the day was a 14-yard scamper that came on his first snap, which caught the defense off-guard after getting a heavy dose of Alfred Morris.
Helu found pay dirt twice thereafter in the second half, including the go-ahead 3-yard score that put the team up for good with less than a minute left in the game.
Fantasy Spin: There isn't a changing of the guard or another instance of "Shanahanigans" in Washington, as Morris remained the more-used back of the two throughout the game. Helu found himself in situations where he could thrive, including an instance when Lance Briggs, who dictated the Bears' defensive calls, was sidelined with an injury. The Redskins took advantage while Helu was on the field, and capped the drive with another touchdown run.
With the Redskins heading to Denver next week, Helu could see extended looks once again, but Morris remains the running back for fantasy owners to pen into the starting lineup.
