Brandon Marshall posts a modest fantasy output for fantasy owners
The Bears’ top wideout couldn’t capitalize during a shootout at FedEx Field on Sunday after his starting quarterback exited due to a groin injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Marshall was shadowed most of the game by DeAngelo Hall, who limited the Bears' No. 1 receiver to six catches for 75 yards and no touchdowns during a game where points seemingly came at will. It did not help Marshall's case that quarterback Jay Cutler exited that game in the first half due to a groin injury and did not return to action. However, backup Josh McCown moved the ball with ease in Cutler's relief, and Marshall finished the game with a team-high 10 targets despite the modest output.
Fantasy Spin: Regardless of who is under center in Chicago, the fact remains that Marshall will be frequently targeted. But unless that man is Cutler, there isn’t much reason to believe that Marshall could be found with enough consistency to propel him into the elite WR1 status that he commanded when his starting quarterback was under center. The Bears have the benefit of a Week 8 bye to get a game-plan together, but until that happens, Marshall is more of a low-end WR1 going forward.
