Steve Smith sets season-high for yardage for Panthers, fantasy owners
The Panthers wide receiver also scored a touchdown Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Smith has had between 40 and 70 yards in five of the Panthers’ six games this season, with 3-6 receptions in every game. His touchdown came on a third quarter pass from quarterback Cam Newton, a 19-yard reception that matches Smith’s season-long.
Fantasy impact: There’s not much variance in Smith’s game at this point in his career. He’ll catch a few balls for a handful of yards, with the only question being whether he manages to score. There’s value there, even if there isn’t a tremendous amount of upside.
Regardless, Smith is still Carolina's top receiving target, with wide receiver Brandon LaFell too unpredictable and tight end Greg Olsen battling injury for the past couple weeks.
