Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton wasn't very productive in fantasy Sunday, with only 204 passing yards and a single touchdown pass. Newton's performance was reined in by the team's lead, as Carolina had the game in hand early en route to a 30-15 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Cam Newton has mediocre fantasy day for Panthers
The Panthers quarterback threw for barely 200 yards and only one score. We break down the fantasy implications.

Newton’s average of 12 yards per pass attempt was his best number of the season, as his 204 yards came on 15 of 17 pass attempts, with the team going away from the pass late in the game. Newton added 26 rushing yards on 10 attempts.
Fantasy impact: Newton has one disaster game this season (two weeks ago) and two monsters game, with this game falling with two others right in the middle. Had the game been more competitive, Newton likely would have been more productive in fantasy. As it was, he was held to 14 fantasy points in standard scoring.
The Panthers have consecutive division games coming up against Tampa Bay and Atlanta. With both teams struggling so far, it’s possible Carolina will again have big leads to handle. Fantasy owners should keep that in mind.
