Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon moved the chains when the team needed to, but otherwise logged a modest output versus the Bears.
Pierre Garcon posts modest fantasy output in Redskins victory
The Redskins eked out a 45-41 win over the Bears on Sunday, getting key drive-sustaining catches from their No. 1 wideout. We break down the fantasy implications.

In a 45-41 victory, there was plenty of wealth to go around, but Garcon was left with five catches for 58 yards. Garcon was able to capitalize on underneath crossing routes and emerged with key receptions on what became the game-winning drive as a result. Quarterback Robert Griffin III and rookie tight end Jordan Reed stole the show, connecting nine times for 134 yards, but it opened up plenty for Garcon underneath, despite him not posting a gaudy yardage total.
Fantasy Spin: Should Reed continue his growth, it will only bode well for Garcon, who appropriately drew tons of attention from opposing secondaries in the season’s early goings. With Reed now on the radar of coordinators across the league, Garcon ought to have more room to operate and thrive in situations where he is asked to create yards after a short completion.
Garcon remains an attractive WR2 option despite turning in disappointing stat sheets for the last two weeks, as he remains heavily involved in the Redskins passing attack. Start him with confidence when the Redskins travel to face Denver in Week 8.
