Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has a muscle tear in his groin, the team announced on Monday. The injury will force Cutler to miss "at least" four weeks, according to the report. Cutler left Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins in the second quarter, and was visibly in quite a bit of pain.
Jay Cutler could miss 4 weeks, fantasy handcuff played well Sunday
Jay Cutler could miss four weeks with an injury, according to a report. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cutler has been playing well this season, with 1,658 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He’s on pace for the highest completion percentage in any single season of his eight-year career. He led the Bears to the No. 13 offense in the NFL at 254.9 passing yards per game on average, and a 4-2 record heading into Week 7.
Now, the team is 4-3, with a 45-41 loss to the Redskins. Maybe the Bears would have won if Cutler didn't get hurt, but his replacement, Josh McCown, did not perform poorly. McCown completed 14 of 20 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown. Running back Matt Forte carried the load with three rushing touchdowns.
Fantasy Impact: Cutler has been one of the more desirable fantasy quarterbacks in recent seasons. Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall are good targets to have, and the Bears like to the throw the football. This would be a big loss for them. Hopefully there are some backup options already on the roster, but there are worse ideas than pursuing McCown for the interim.
