The Giants backfield got a few unlikely contributions during a 23-7 victory over the Vikings on Monday night.
Peyton Hillis provided deep-league fantasy value in win over Vikings
The Giants distributed the ball over 30 times to its new-look backfield on Monday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Peyton Hillis and Michael Cox carried the mail for the Giants, but were inefficient in doing so as a whole. Cox carried the ball 11 times for 23 yards, and Hillis was not much more effective. The former Brown and Buccaneer logged 36 yards on 18 carries, but also got a 1-yard touchdown run in the process. Hillis provided value as a checkdown option as well, catching five passes for 45 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Despite Hillis’ activity in the passing game and the goal line, it remains a total mess in the Giants backfield. The running back position is one that begs to be taken control of after another collectively inefficient output.
Unfortunately, no one appears to be ready, willing, or able to do this, with David Wilson, Andre Brown and Brandon Jacobs all ailing. Brown can return as early as Week 10, and though he is worth a stash for desperate fantasy owners, not much can be expected from a player with a recently broken fibula. Projecting the Giants backfield production remains a crapshoot, and fantasy owners would be advised to turn their attention elsewhere in the meantime.
