The Giants got their much-needed first victory of the season on Monday night, but wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was held in check.
Hakeem Nicks turns in another dismal fantasy output despite win
Eli Manning and Hakeem Nicks could not connect with any regularity during the team’s 23-7 victory over the Vikings on Monday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Nicks finished the evening with just two catches for 28 yards, but led the team with 10 targets. Quarterback Eli Manning struggled most of the evening, often settled for checkdowns, and nearly turned the ball over on more than one occasion.
Fantasy Spin: It’s another discouraging output from Nicks, who continues to plummet down the weekly ranks. His latest disappointing yardage total drops his average to 67 per game, and the big-handed possession receiver has yet to find the end zone through seven games. At the rate the Giants have taken to the air, that’s an alarming number and cause for concern.
Nicks has been the topic of swirling trade rumors, and perhaps a change of scenery could benefit the talented but underachieving wideout. In the meantime, fantasy owners are likely stuck in limbo with Nicks, who presents upside but offers no consistency. He is a low-end WR2 going forward, but the opportunity to break out versus the Eagles presents itself in Week 8. Nicks gashed them for a season-high 142 yards against them in Week 5.
