Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts says he'll "definitely" play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, according to Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union. Shorts is dealing with a shoulder injury that almost caused him to miss the team's Week 7 matchup against the San Diego Chargers.
Cecil Shorts says he’ll play against 49ers, fantasy value questionable despite recent play
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts says he’ll play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Shorts was actually expected to miss that game with the injury, but he still managed to catch eight passes for 80 yards. He’s has been productive this season, even if the Jaguars haven’t really come close to winning any games. It’s actually been a very productive season, with 39 receptions for 491 yards and a touchdown.
Shorts missed the team's Week 6 match against the Denver Broncos to the injury. That said, his lowest yardage total came in Week 1, so he seems good to go. Unfortunately, the 49ers have a very good secondary, with corners like Tarell Brown and Tramaine Brock playing very well. It will be interesting to see if he can have a big game.
Fantasy Impact: The Jaguars may not be getting much from running back Maurice Jones-Drew, but they have two productive fantasy receivers in Shorts and Justin Blackmon. Shorts has developed into a very good WR3 or even a WR2 candidate but its hard to recommend him against the 49ers, even if there is little doubt about his playing status. Then again, he did manage to put up 143 receiving yards against the Seattle Seahawks, so anything can happen.
