The Jacksonville Jaguars will go with Chad Henne as their starting quarterback on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, according to Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union. Head coach Gus Bradley said quarterback Blaine Gabbert participated in full, but that he will be the backup.
Chad Henne to start for Jaguars, is technically a better fantasy option than Blaine Gabbert
Chad Henne will make the start for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. While there’s no fantasy value to speak of, Henne is technically a better option than Blaine Gabbert for what it’s worth.

Gabbert had been dealing with a hamstring injury, among others. It seems like he is 100 percent healthy at this point, but his poor and uninspiring play has led the Jaguar to go with Henne, who has performed marginally better than Gabbert at this point.
Henne has completed 103 of 173 passes for 1,222 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions. His completion percentage is 59.5 percent. Gabbert has completed 42 of 86 passes for 481 yards, with one touchdown and seven interceptions. His completion percentage is 48.8 percent.
Obviously, throwing for two more interceptions despite almost 100 fewer attempts is a good reason to keep Gabbert on the bench.
Fantasy Impact: The Jaguars are a mess, and if you’re a fantasy owner depending on a decision like Henne getting the start over Gabbert, you’re either in serious trouble or about to play someone in serious trouble. They are bad fantasy quarterbacks, with 100 percent of the upside being in the possibility of big yardage put up in garbage time when the Jaguars are already out of the game. For some real fantasy analysis, Henne is the better option for fantasy, so this is technically a positive development.
