In wake of the misery of Roddy White and Julio Jones' injuries among fantasy owners, Falcons receiver Harry Douglas provided a reprieve with a big performance in their absences.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 8: Harry Douglas
The Falcons got a much-needed boost from Harry Douglas in the receiving game last week with Julio Jones and Roddy White sidelined. We break down the fantasy implications.

In Week 7's matchup versus the Buccaneers, Douglas and quarterback Matt Ryan took advantage of soft coverages and hooked up seven times for 149 yards and a touchdown. It was production that was every bit as reminiscent of the numbers Jones and White put up at peak health, and a reminder that while the Falcons passing game takes a hit in their absences, it isn't completely dead.
Fantasy Spin: As long as Matt Ryan is quarterbacking the Falcons, Douglas has a chance to be productive, especially with extra attention being paid to tight end Tony Gonzalez. It doesn't hurt that the Cardinals, who Douglas will square off against on Sunday, have had their share of problems defending the pass and have allowed an average of 253 yards each game and 13 total touchdowns on the season.
Douglas will still see looks, but don’t be surprised if his production plays second fiddle to Gonzalez’s, since the Cardinals have given up a league-worst average of 94 yards to tight ends each game. Going forward, expect Douglas to be a solid WR3 with WR2 upside, and that will remain the case for Week 8.
