Fantasy football projections, Week 8: 49ers vs. Jaguars featuring Colin Kaepernick, Frank Gore and Justin Blackmon

It's highly likely that the 49ers defense will be able to keep the Jaguars in check in Week 8, meaning it could be a light day for quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The third-year passer threw for just 199 yards and did not throw a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, a game that saw the 49ers scored 31 points in the victory.

Much of Kaepernick's steady but not spectacular play last week was thanks in large part to running back Frank Gore, who found the end zone twice against the Titans. Gore is having issues with his ankle but was a full participant in practice on Thursday. Fantasy owners can bet that if the game against the Jaguars gets out of hand early, he will be getting a lot of touches as the 49ers will aim to run down the clock.

Quarterback Chad Henne is proving to be more beneficial to the Jaguars fantasy exploits than teammate Blaine Gabbert, but not that much better. Although he has thrown for over 300 yards in each of the last two games, Henne did not manage to find the end zone in either one of those contests. While his last two opponents, the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers, aren't afraid to give up points to opposing teams because they can score so much, Henne will be in tough against the 49ers, who pride themselves on their defense.
