Fantasy football projections, Week 8: Giants vs. Eagles featuring Eli Manning, Hakeem Nicks and Michael Vick
We break down the Week 8 matchup between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.

New York Giants
To say that this season has been a disappointing one for quarterback Eli Manning and the Giants is an understatement. That said, the team did pick up its first win of the season in a game where Manning threw for 200 yards and one touchdown. That happened last week against a weak Minnesota Vikings secondary. Manning faces a similarly porous Eagles secondary in Week 8 that might make him worth a spot start for fantasy owners who may have their existing starting quarterback sitting out on a bye week.
If the Giants do succeed at exploiting the Eagles through the air attack, it will no doubt work to the benefit of wide receivers Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. Though Nicks has not scored a touchdown yet this season, he did have his biggest game of the year in Week 5 against the Eagles, catching nine passes for 142 yards.
To add to their passing game, the Giants now have something of a running game, with Peyton Hillis proving effective against the Vikings. He'll most likely carry the load on Sunday with teammate Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) listed as doubtful for the contest.
Philadelphia Eagles
Unlike their Week 8 opponent, the Eagles still have a chance to make the playoffs despite some rough patches in their season thus far. The good news is, the team will likely have their starting quarterback Michael Vick back in the lineup against the Giants after Vick sat out the last two games with a hamstring injury. If he can't run or is slowed down by the ailment, fantasy owners can bet running back LeSean McCoy will have a solid showing in the game. Back in Week 5, McCoy managed 92 total yards and a touchdown against the Giants.
Through the air, Vick will no doubt look to reconnect with wide receiver DeSean Jackson. In Vick's absence, Jackson did manage a pair of touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. However, he only caught three passes for 21 yards against the Dallas Cowboys last week, and finished well under his season average of 87 yards receiving in both games with Nick Foles at the controls.
