Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has been ruled out for the team's matchup versus the Detroit Lions according to NFL Network's Stacy Dales.
DeMarco Murray inactive for Week 8, bench in fantasy leagues
The Cowboys will once again be without their feature back due to a sprained MCL. We break down the fantasy implications.

Despite early-week optimism that Murray would gut it out and play through a sprained MCL sustained in Week 6 versus the Redskins, he will instead be sidelined. It would have been an unlikely scenario to return after just a week's rest from a multi-week injury, especially with the Cowboys getting serviceable play from Joseph Randle and having the ability to thrive in a pass-heavy game plan.
Fantasy Spin: Randle will once again get the start, but expect his workload to be cut into with Lance Dunbar returning to the team after sustaining a hamstring injury earlier this season. Versus a Lions defense that is allowing a league-worst 5.1 yards per carry, the Cowboys ought to be able to deploy an effective rushing attack with Randle leading the way.
In a week that’s been overtaken with injuries and byes, Randle can be penned into fantasy lineups as a solid RB2 in what could be a shootout.
