New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has been reasonably consistent over the team's last four weeks. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, that consistency has been in the "mediocre yards and no scores" category. Even as his team has started winning games, Cruz hasn't broken through, including Sunday, in New York's 15-7 victory over the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.
Victor Cruz can’t break through for fantasy owners against Eagles.
The Giants wide receiver got 86 yards, but couldn’t find the end zone Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cruz caught seven passes for 86 yards Sunday, his fourth straight game with 48-86 yards and no scores.
Meanwhile, teammate Rueben Randle saw his hot streak snapped in a big way. After four touchdowns in his previous three games, Randle was held without a catch in Sunday's game. Randle was only targeted once.
Fantasy impact: Cruz’s numbers would be acceptable for a mid-round wide receiver, maybe a WR2. But considering most fantasy owners had to burn a high draft pick to acquire Cruz, he’s been a disappointment for several weeks running, ever since his 164-yards-and-a-touchdown game against Kansas City in Week 4.
Randle, meanwhile, got shut down by a usually-bad defense. The Giants have a bye this week, but with the trading deadline coming up and teammate Hakeem Nicks the subject of rumors, it's possible Randle could be the team's No. 2 option in their next game. Either way, the Giants come out of their bye with games against the Raiders and Packers that could promise big receiving yardage.
