New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles caught four passes in a 35-17 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. Sproles finished with zero yards on those four touches and did not get a carry out of the backfield in the game.
Darren Sproles disappoints, fantasy no-show in a big win
The Saints versatile running back was completely stymied despite his team’s lopsided victory. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Sproles' output against the Bills has to come as a major disappointment to his fantasy owners, especially given that the Saints posted 35 points up on the board. In a game where quarterback Drew Brees completed passes 10 different receivers and threw five touchdown passes, Sproles was nowhere to be found.
Tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receiver Kenny Stills were a big reason for that. Both players caught a pair of touchdowns even though they were each targeted less than five times in the game.
Between running backs Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson in the backfield and the plethora of receivers Brees was able to get involved in the game, there just wasn't enough to go around for Sproles to make an impact.
Before fantasy owners hit the panic button, it is important to remember that Sproles is still averaging a career-high 52 receiving yards per game even after failing to gain a single yard in Week 8.
