The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed wide receiver Mike Williams on injured reserve, ending his season. Williams is dealing with a hamstring injury, and tried to play through it in recent weeks, but was ineffective. Ultimately, with the team sitting winless on the season, going onto injured reserve and getting time to recover is probably the best thing for him.
Mike Williams out for season, fantasy replacement shouldn’t come from Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams is out for the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

His fourth NFL season comes to an end with 22 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns. He was having a down year before the injury, but that could easily be blamed on just how messed up the Buccaneers have been this season. He signed a six-year, $40.25 million contract this offseason.
It's likely that Tiquan Underwood will step into a starting role, but he doesn't inspire much confidence. Vincent Jackson is firmly entrenched as the only reliable target for rookie quarterback Mike Glennon.
Fantasy Impact: Williams was drafted relatively highly as many expected a big season out of him, so this hurts a lot of fantasy owners. It’s hard to recommend Underwood in Williams’ place, and Jackson is obviously already snatched up. You might say that the receptions “have to go somewhere,’ but given they play of Glennon ... they really don’t. Fantasy owners should look to another team for a replacement.
