Torrey Smith on pace for a career high in catches, targets; fantasy owners pleased
In his first year as the Ravens’ featured passing weapon, Smith is amassing totals rapidly. We break down the fantasy implications.

Four games into the season, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith is already almost 40 percent of the way to his career high in targets, noted Rotoworld writer Adam Levitan. With 21 catches on 42 targets, Smith is well on his way to eclipsing his previous career highs of 50 and 95, respectively.
When the team dealt receiver Anquan Boldin to San Francisco in the offseason, Smith became the No. 1 option for quarterback Joe Flacco. Injuries to Dennis Pitta, Ed Dickson, and Jacoby Jones have only increased that status. Boldin is currently on pace for 168 targets on the season.
Fantasy update: Smith’s season could end up as a real quantity-over-quality situation, as he has only one game over 100 yards and one touchdown, but still ranks third in the NFL in receiving yards through four weeks of the season.
With all the injuries in the Ravens' receiving corps, and star running back Ray Rice starting hurt and slow, Smith will have to continue his torrid pace to keep the Ravens in contention.
