Matt Prater shows up on Broncos injury report with calf injury, fantasy owners will have to play the waiting game
The Broncos prized kicker injured his calf during practice on Thursday, leaving his status for Week 5’s matchup versus the Cowboys in question. We break down the fantasy implications.

Prater was left off of Wednesday's report, meaning that his newly reported right calf injury was one likely sustained in practice and not preexisting. Because it is his kicking leg, and because it's an injury that happened just four days before game time, Prater could be in danger of not suiting up versus the Cowboys on Sunday.
Fantasy Spin: This is not welcome news for the owners of fantasy football’s highest scoring kicker through the quarter mark of the season, and it’s a story that will need to be monitored until game time. However, because the Broncos have the 4:25 p.m. ET slot, if Prater does not suit up, then overly patient owners could be left without an option at kicker. It’s possible that progress on the injury will be known before Sunday, and if that’s the case, owners can act from there. If not, another option at kicker will need to be explored. Despite Prater’s success, owners should not shed a tear about having to replace him if need be.
