Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams missed Thursday's practice with a quad injury.
DeAngelo Williams misses Thursday’s practice, is risky play for fantasy owners this week
The Panthers will likely get Jonathan Stewart back this week, but the status of DeAngelo Williams remains murky. We break down the fantasy implications.

Williams also sat out on Wednesday, but head coach Ron Rivera expects Williams to resume practicing on Friday.Should he get in a full session, it will greatly boost his chances of playing versus the Falcons on Sunday. However, with the elevated play of Mike Tolbert and the impending return of Jonathan Stewart, the Panthers may not be so quick to rush Williams back into action.
Fantasy Spin: It looks like “end times” for Williams’ owners, who were able to get a fantastic return on what was a value pick in fantasy drafts. With a nagging injury, plus the return of Stewart, Williams’ value will be muddled going forward, as he now has two players breathing down his neck for snaps.
Williams is averaging 85 total yards per game, but versus the Falcons and with a competitive backfield, he is a low-end flex play at best if he does manage to suit-up. If he does not, Tolbert and Stewart's value will see a boost, but will likely be touchdown-dependent for fantasy value.
